(Wednesday, 26 November 2025). Araven, a leading company in the Horeca sector, has begun collaborating with the NGO Apadrinaunolivo.org to help restore the centuries-old olive groves of Oliete (Teruel) and promote rural development. Along with the financial contribution to keep 15 olive trees healthy and productive, it has donated products that will support the work of the local cannery. With this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) action, Araven reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and to improving the environment.
The company, headquartered in Villanueva de Gállego (Zaragoza), offers the most comprehensive catalogue of tools for handling and preserving food in professional kitchens. Its exclusive solutions are designed to make daily work easier in a responsible way, minimising environmental impact and prioritising sustainable, long-lasting materials.
Apadrinaunolivo.org was founded in 2014 with the aim of restoring more than 100,000 centuries-old trees in Oliete, which had been affected by abandonment resulting from depopulation. Since then, nearly 30,000 olive trees—almost one third—have been recovered. The initiative protects these historic trees, creates local employment, and drives sustainable development. It also fosters social inclusion by integrating vulnerable groups.
Araven explains that the collaboration arose naturally, thanks to the personal experience of an employee who was already involved in the project. From there, the company decided to take part: “We found a clear connection with our values of innovation, sustainability and purpose, and it aligns with what we strive to promote: a sense of belonging and connection to the territory, reuse, long-term vision, and honest communication,”.
“On World Olive Tree Day, this 26 November, we are pleased to share this collaboration through which we join the goals of this celebration, promoting the protection of the olive tree and all the social, economic, environmental, cultural and symbolic values it embodies— a tree long recognised as a symbol of peace and harmony,” Araven emphasises.

A TANGIBLE AND SHARED COLLABORATION
Araven’s financial contribution will help preserve the ecosystem and olive-growing culture by allowing the necessary maintenance work on 15 abandoned centuries-old trees. Likewise, the resources provided will support the initiative’s own cannery, which produces a variety of preserves and vegetable pâtés made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil obtained from recovered olive trees, employing nine women from the village.
The Aragonese company’s products are ideal for preserving and handling this raw material. Apadrinaunolivo.org has enabled the creation of around fifty jobs in the area, making it possible to keep the schools of the town and the neighbouring municipality of Alacón open.

As a symbolic gesture of appreciation, Araven has received two litres of Extra Virgin Olive Oil per olive tree, which will be distributed among its employees—another example of “a collaboration that can be seen, touched and shared among colleagues.” The bottle labels have been customised for Araven CFS Brands. In addition, employees will receive a discount code for purchases on the project’s online store, Miolivo.org.
The work of Apadrinaunolivo.org has been recognised with several awards, including the ECODES Award for Accelerating a Just Transition and the Esteva Award, received this year. The association has expressed its gratitude for “Araven’s trust and commitment to a more sustainable, greener and more human future.”
