Araven adds innovative Tritan™ Renew material to its foodservice product lineup

  • The company is updating three key product lines to meet professional storage and food-handling needs with a next-generation material developed by Eastman. The material combines high performance and assigned recycled content while meeting new European regulatory requirements
  • Nearly 50 new Gastronorm pans, GN lids, and square containers made with Tritan Renew are manufactured with at least 25% recycled content assigned through a mass-balance system and are BPA-free.
  • The new products maintain the high standards and reliability associated with Araven, an Aragon-based company that is a part of the U.S.-based CFS Brands, while offering added benefits in strength, clarity, durability and sustainability.
  • Tritan Renew is a copolyester made using Eastman’s innovative recycling technology. It resists warping and breakage during repeated use in demanding professional environments, has a long service life, offers excellent clarity, and can be used at temperatures from -40 oC to +90 o
  • The circularity contribution of Araven’s products can be illustrated in terms of recycled-material equivalents. For example, each 22-liter square container incorporates an amount of material equivalent to approximately 34 single-use 500ml bottles.

(October 21, 2026).- Araven continues to advance innovation in foodservice equipment with the addition of Tritan Renew to its product lineup. In collaboration with Eastman, the creator of this innovative material, the company has introduced new lines of Gastronorm pans, GN lids, and square containers made with this next-generation solution. These new products replace versions previously made from polycarbonate. This is more than a material change: Tritan Renew enables Araven to maintain the performance professionals come to recognize while enhancing key product features, including strength, durability, and sustainability.

This product update comes as new European regulatory requirements for food-contact materials take effect, driving the use of bisphenol-free (BPA-free) and increasingly sustainable solutions. With this renewal, Araven, a leading foodservice solutions company within U.S.-based multinational CFS Brands, is strengthening its commitment to providing the professional market with products aligned with the highest standards of quality, food safety, and environmental sustainability.

The addition of Eastman Tritan Renew represents a significant upgrade for all three updated product lines. Each is made with at least 25% recycled content assigned through a mass-balance approach. Eastman’s molecular recycling process transforms hard-to-recycle plastic waste into durable materials. The process breaks plastic waste down into its basic chemical building blocks, which are then used to produce new raw materials. Tritan Renew is made without BPA and delivers the same level of performance, clarity, and durability as standard Tritan.

Araven’s new products’ contribution to circularity can be illustrated in terms of recycled-material equivalents. For example, each 22-liter square container incorporates an amount of material equivalent to approximately 34 single-use 500 mL bottles, while a 26-liter Gastronorm pan is equivalent to more than 30 recycled bottles.

High resistance for intensive use

The new product lines retain the characteristics that have made the Aragon-based company a benchmark in the industry and improve on some of them. The products offer high resistance for intensive use and are designed to meet the everyday demands of the foodservice industry. They can withstand temperatures from -40 oC to +90 oC when used according to the recommended conditions.

Tritan Renew represents a new generation of materials that combines sustainability with technical performance. This copolyester resists warping and breakage during repeated use in demanding professional environments. It retains its clarity through commercial dishwasher cycles and resists stains and odors. Its durability supports a long service life, can reduce the need for replacement, and may help lower the cost per use over time.

Three product lines in the Araven catalog

The new products focus on three key lines in Araven’s professional catalog, with nearly 50 products designed to meet essential storage and food-preservation needs in kitchens, food-preparation areas, and service areas.

– Gastronorm pans. Araven’s premium line includes up to 25 products in a range of formats for professional kitchens, making it easy to integrate into existing setups and optimize space. The pans combine the advantages of the Gastronorm format with the performance of a strong, durable, highly transparent material to support safe and efficient storage. Capacities range from 0.6 to 26.6 liters, and the line includes matching airtight lids. These are ideal for storing protein-rich foods such as meat and fish. The airtight seal keeps air from entering the container, reducing food oxidation.

– Gastronorm lids. Available for multiple GN formats, the new lids provide a versatile way to protect food during storage and everyday handling. The line includes 12 products, with and without a notch to accommodate a spoon or other utensil in the service area. The lids without a notch are especially suitable for storing vegetables because they help prevent water condensation on the container walls. The notched versions protect food from exposure to the surrounding environment and help reduce the risk of external contamination in food-display areas, such as display cases, buffets, and hot-food serving stations.

– Square containers. Ideal for transporting and storing sauces and liquids, these containers do not stain or absorb odors. They are also particularly well suited to dry foods that are sensitive to ambient moisture. Available in seven capacities, from 2 to 22 liters, their square design optimizes storage space without leaving unused gaps. The lid provides an airtight seal to protect food, and exterior side grips make the containers easier to handle and transport.

Integrated label on pans and containers

All pans and containers feature Araven’s signature integrated label, which helps professionals identify food contents and traceability information for safer, more efficient day-to-day operations.

With these new product lines, the company continues to develop solutions that address the industry’s current challenges by combining innovation, functionality, and sustainability. “Adding Tritan Renew reinforces our commitment to more advanced and sustainable materials while maintaining the high standards of quality, safety, and functionality that define our products. This evolution allows us to continue supporting foodservice professionals with solutions suited to the industry’s current challenges”, Araven representatives said.

Eastman also commented on the collaboration with Araven: “It demonstrates how manufacturers can incorporate more sustainable materials without compromising the performance professional users expect. Tritan Renew combines durability, safety for food-contact applications, and recycled content assigned through a mass-balance system to deliver high performance in demanding applications such as food storage and preservation”.
